Blue Spa Terrace, Bar (Munich)
After a busy day in Munich the most relaxing place to meet friends for coffee, tea or drinks is the Blue Spa Lounge on the rooftop of Hotel Bayrischer Hof in the city centre next to Fuenf Hoefe area.
Even though the bar is part of the hotel's spa area that was redecorated by Andrée Putman recently it is open to the public. If it is really cold you can sit by the open fireplace indoors but of course sipping a nice drink on the rooftop, enjoying the view of the city and maybe even the sunset is nicer. If the weather is chilly the service provides you with fake-fur blankets and there are patio heaters.
The menu is very big including all sorts of spa/health drinks, juices and teas.
Enjoy!

heart, Restaurant/Bar/Club (Munich)
There are some dates in a calender that are set in stone such as Christmas, birthdays and- Oktoberfest in Munich!
Apart from deciding when to go, with whom, in which tent the question remains what to do after the evening at Oktoberfest finishes around 11pm. This year we decided to try h-e-a-r-t, a club/restaurant/bar that just opened in May and came highly recommended. The club's name is actually only the logo of a heart, it does not have a written name.
h-e-a-r-t is located in the old stock exchange building at Lenbachplatz 2a close to Karlsplatz/Stachus. The former Deutsche Bank branch was tranformed into a very stylish bar/restaurant/club.
Upon entering coats can be checked and even the coat tags spot a cute heart.
The first room to enter is where the restaurant is located at. The light is dimmed, the colors palette is brown, golden including wooden flooring. Furniture is sleek. The atmosphere is therefore elegant and mysterious but welcoming.
A huge golden door gives access to the bar/club area which used to be a vault. I was surprised by the size of the room as the bar and the tables in the corners almost fill the room. There is no particular dance area. The ceiling is completely mirrored so the room appears larger. Also it is fun to people-watch.
The colors and materials are the same as in the restaurant. There was still a nice smell of wood from the flooring in the air when we entered early at h-e-a-r-t. Don't know how long that will stay though.
The crowd was very mixed, everybody very much enjoyed themselves and danced the night away to 80ies and 90ies mixed music. Since it was Oktoberfest the dresscode was mainly Dirndl&Lederhosen, it seemed that dressing is mixed on other occasions.
Another thing to mention are the restrooms in the basement: they are very dark, partially unisex and huge. Btw- Entry to h-e-a-r-t is free.
Enjoy!
